TMs are only able to be taught through roleplay, and that means in a non-battle situation. For more information on how to use a TM, look up the description in the Itemdex thread if you wish.

That being said, the attacks taught by the Masters A and B are effective immediately, so you are permitted to use them now, even if you are already in battle.
