Mission; Defeat Poochyena!

Mission: Capture the rogue Poocheyena.
Type: Criminal Capture

Location: Dark Woods
Description: PLEASE DEFEAT AND DETAIN THE THIEF POOCHEYENA. BRING HIM BACK TO TREASURE TOWN, WHERE I, MAGNEZONE, AND THE REST OF THE MAGNEMITE POLICE SQUAD WILL TAKE HIM.

"Hurry up, Egon! For a ball of electricity, you sure are slow!" shouted the Torchic, dashing towards the thick, black forest. Anna could smell the adventure. It smelt like mint, and roses, and... bacon, she supposed, all rolled into one. She turned and looked back. There was no-one there. "Egon? You there?" asked the Chick Pokémon, seeing no sign of her plasmatic ball of a friend. She heard a swoosh behind her. She looked but there was nothing. This was seriously creepy; what was go-

"Boo."

Anna screamed, running like heck. Egon cackled to himself; he'd wanted to do that ever since the incident with the phony Nugget. The "Boo" was the best part, though. The quiet tone... and right in her ear! She'd be furious at him, though. Oh well. Egon didn't particularly care. Eventually, he caught up with his terrified team mate, and they began their adventure, one of them noticeably grumpier than when they started.

After a noticeably loud and amusing prank, the motley team was good to go. No amount of darkness, frightening noises, fleeing shadows, or difficulty was going to stop them!

Soon the search grew tiring, however. They didn't seem to be encountering anything suspicious, and time continued to pass. Just as it seemed they would have to head home, they found something snagged on a nearby thorny bush. A clump of black fur, suspiciously like that of a Poocheyena's, was there. As they were about to investigate the area past the bush, Anna stepped on a small vine.

"Ow!" A Carnivine drew itself up from the shadows of the ground, hidden underneath the bush. It seems Anna had stepped on one of its legs. "You woke me up! Come to steal the Berries I just picked, eh?" The team tried to spit out an explanation, but he cut them off. "Don't try to lie your way out of it!" The Carnivine's limbs shot toward Anna, about to Bind her.

Fight back!

"AAAAH!" Screamed Anna, the long vine about to wrap around her leg. "Egon! Do something, you moron!" The poor pokemon was in hysterics. "PARALYSIS! GO!" Yelled Egon, firing off a Thunder Wave in order to help her friend move before the fly trap pokemon could get a grip on the Torchic's leg.

"Cheers!" Yelled Anna, dashing at her foe and Scratching the Carnivine. She jumped back to Egon afterward, beginning to plan what they would do next, several dozen strategies whizzing through her brain.

With a start, Egon tried to paralyze the snaking vine, but as Carnivine resistss electricity it didn't do much. One leg pinned down by the vine, Anna tried to Scratch it off with her free foot. "Ouch!" yelled the Carnivine as it returned the vine. "You'll pay for that!" he shouted, as he dived toward Anna with his enormous pair of jaws open. Catching her off-guard, the Carnivine Bites down on the poor little chick Pokémon and shakes her about before spitting her into a hard tree trunk.

Anna isn't looking too good; that enormous pair of choppers and collision with the tree left her in pain, though she's still got a ways to go before she falls. Otherwise, she and Egon are both fresh.

Carnivine's got plenty of health left, used up a good amount of energy too but not too much.

Egon watched as his friend got catapulted out of the giant flytrap Pokémon's mouth and into a tree. He got mad. "...Grrrraaaaaaghhhhhhhhh!!!!" he screamed, catapulting himself at the Carnivine in a rage, and firing a close range Confuse Ray at the huge plant's eyes. He continued his assault with an Astonish that, he hoped, would send his foe reeling.

Meanwhile, Anna jumped down from the tree, and after shaking her head a bit to get back into focus. "Why you not-so-little- Take THIS!" She yelled, Scratching Carnivine twice in it's torso directly after Egon finished his barrage of techniques. "That'll teach you!" She shouted, getting away from close ange and readying herself to Dodge another hit.

Diving in with rage, Egon fires a bright, multicolored blast of light at Carnivine. Carnivine's eyes glaze over at this in confusion, rendering him unable to counterattack. He then shouts and rams Carnivine, which deals some damage and knocks the confusion partly out of him. He's still dazed enough for Anna to jump in and deal two successive hits, which fully knock the confusion out of him. In revenge, he snakes a few vines toward Anna, but she barely skips out of the way.

Carnivine took a beating, and is a good amount of health above half. Didn't use too much energy. Anna used a lot of energy and is panting a bit, though she's still got a ways to go. Egon used up just a bit less than Anna. Needless to say, neither of them took any damage.

Carnivine angrily dives toward Anna, mouth wide open and ready to chomp down again.

Anna watched the huge incoming plant's jaw zooming at her- when suddenly Egon dived in the way and... CHOMP. Anna opened her eyes. Her friend, who was made of plasma, was inside the beast's mouth. Using Thundershock. That was going to hurt. Anna grinned, deciding to take it easy and Dodge any incoming hits. They were starting to get the upper hand... erm, wing/bolt.

((Seeing as Carnivine has no way to hurt Rotom currently, EMERGENCY EGG MOVE APPLICATION TIME))

Carnivine screamed as the Thundershock delivered a direct-inside hit. Egon remained unscathed, due to his ethereal nature. Even though Carnivine resisted the attack, it was still effective enough due to the way it was delivered to deal normal damage. Carnivine retreated, in pain, and glared at Egon. "I don't usually resort to this, but you've forced me! Magical Leaf!" He fires several small bits of grass energy at Egon, which hit for good damage.

Carnivine took more damage, now below 1/2, and used up a bunch of energy. Egon took a nice hit for the first time. Energy is heading toward 3/4s. Pretty much nothing happened to Anna.

(OOC: Really hoping to recruit this guy now.)

Egon shook off the attack, having been hit for the first time. "You alright there, pal?" Anna asked her team mate, genuinely worried that he was hurt. "Relax, An. I'm fine. Just a bunch of leaves. Still, let's make this guy pay." Egon and Anna both grinned, and hey turned to their opponent, Egon using a Double Astonish and Anna Scratching her foeTwice. . They thought that that should bring their enemy plenty of pain.

((Just note that while I RF you I'm also RFing Dave on ASB and I'm updating other people, so I might be a little slow. But just a little.))

Egon and Anna come in for a dual assualt, Egon shouting and smacking Carnivine and Anna scratching it with her talons. Try as he might Carnivine is unable to counterattack due to the Astonishes until after the team finishes. "Ack...take...take this!" he quickly shoots out vines that Bind Anna and squeeze her hard before releasing her. Carnivine begins to summon bits of a Magical Leaf to fire at Egon.

Carnivine isn't doing too good, another hit or so and he'll go down. Anna took good damage, Egon took none. The two of them used up plenty of energy.

The two Pokémon nodded at each other, knowing what they would do to end this fight. They both leapt out to the left and right of Carnivine, and, charging at their foe with a running jump, dealt a repeat performance of their last technique; A pair of Astonish attacks from Egon, a pair of Scratch attacks from Anna.

As the pair come in for the final attack, Egon is knocked back by Carnivine's Magical Leaf. Anna, however, continues on and deals her two Scratch attacks. Carnivine scrambles away. "Damn you exploration teams!" he yells, slithering away. Where he was resting earlier a blue Oran Berry could be seen resting.

The team was now free to proceed through the thorny bush.

Egon and Anna cheered as their foe slithered off back to wherever it was that he came from. They felt that the were both OK enough to carry on, so they scooped up the bright blue Oran Berry and went back on Poochyena's trail, following the scraps of hair through the bushy area, making sure to ready themselves shoud the need to fight arise.
